February 2026 turned into one of the biggest months yet for AI video. Kling AI (by Kuaishou) launched its 3.0 model series on February 5, and ByteDance released Seedance 2.0 on February 12 — both landing just days before Chinese New Year on February 17.
What Kling 3.0 brought:
- Video clips up to 15 seconds with much better shot-to-shot consistency
- Native audio generation — no more syncing audio as a separate step
- Multi-shot storyboard mode: plan up to 6 camera cuts inside a single generation
- More natural character movement, expression, and dialogue pacing
- 4K image output via the Kling Image 3.0 Omni model
What Seedance 2.0 brought:
- A single architecture that handles text, image, video, and audio inputs all at once
- Cinema-grade 2K output with strong character consistency across scenes
- Reference up to 9 images, 3 videos, and 3 audio clips in one prompt
- Tight control over camera movement, lighting, and motion pacing
Having two stronger tools available at the same time made it faster to test and pick the right model for each type of scene in our production work.
