Most people think of AI as something that answers questions or writes text. OpenClaw is different. It gives an AI model the ability to actually use a computer — move the mouse, open apps, read files, fill in forms, and trigger workflows — the same way a person would. Volckano has fully deployed this as part of our daily operations.
Our setup:
- A Windows RTX 5090 machine running local Qwen models via Ollama as the main compute node
- An Apple M3 MacBook Pro handling macOS-specific workflows including WeChat automation and calendar scheduling
- Models connected through the OpenClaw framework, with task queues managed by a lightweight Python orchestration layer
What we automate with it:
- Daily AI news digest — the system scrapes sources, summarizes in Chinese and English, and delivers to our WeChat group every morning with no one touching a keyboard
- Contractor onboarding emails — when a new contractor is added to our roster, OpenClaw triggers the mailer, attaches the PDF agreement, and logs the send automatically
- Video asset quality checks — the pipeline runs character verification on new footage batches and flags inconsistencies before they reach the editor
- Website job rotation — career listings on the Volckano site update on a schedule so the page always shows current openings
The result is that our small core team handles the output volume of a much larger group. Tasks that used to take two to three hours a day now run overnight while the team sleeps. That is the real point of full computer-use automation — not just answering questions, but actually getting things done.
