Overview
Volckano built an AI tutor for primary school homework. It answers inside the textbook and chapter the child is using.
The problem
A general chatbot gives a child the answer, sometimes with methods the class has not learned yet. Parents and teachers want the reasoning, in the order the class learned it.
What we built
- Grades 4 to 6 maths and English, chapter by chapter, following the textbook
- Each answer: what the question asks, the topic it uses, the steps with a reason for each, then the answer
- Draws the shapes, fraction bars and number lines the explanation needs
- Two similar practice questions, with answers hidden until the child tries
The result
A child sees why each step works, in the same terms the class uses, and can try the same idea again straight away.
