Working demo · ordinary webcamVantage: a screen that behaves like a window
Overview
Volckano built a head-tracking display. Move your head and the view shifts, as it would through a real window.
The problem
A flat screen in a lobby or an exhibition looks like a flat screen. Depth usually needs headsets or special hardware.
What we built
- Head tracking from a normal webcam, with no headset
- The view is re-projected in real time for where the viewer stands
- Set up for a physical LED window using its real size in metres
The result
The scene answers to where each viewer stands, which a poster or a looped film cannot do.
Start with one small pilot.
Tell us the task. We will say whether it is worth doing.
